French 75

  • The French 75 is named for the fast-firing 75 millimeters field gun that was utilized by the French during World War One. The drink is a lot friendlier than the name implies.

Even if there are some previous examples of cocktail named French 75 before, the first written French 75 cocktail with the ingredients most recognisable today is from 1927 "Here's How" by Judge Jr. Notably, followed by 1930 "Savoy Cocktail Book" by Harry Craddock.
