GINEPRAIO GIN

In a London DRY GIN, the sugar cannot be added in the preparation and it is compulsory to distill all the botanicals together (that means all the parts of the different plants used in the recipe).

All the ingredients are put inside the alembic's frail, through which alcohol passes during the distillation process, extracting from the botanicals the oils and the essences needed to give GINEPRAIO its distinctive character. In addition to the classical CORIANDERANGELICALEMON, and ORANGE, we have selected two other plants from our region: ROSA CANINA, a climbing, wild rose species, and HELYCHRISIUM, a wild plant that makes yellow flowers in July and grows on the Tyrrhenian coast and in Sardinia.

All these essences enrich the powerful flavor given by the liquor's main character: the juniper. In reality, our essences are 9, because we are using 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF JUNIPER. Given the importance Tuscany has in juniper production while developing our recipe, we compared the results of these berries from three different areas of Tuscany given being distilled separately. This was necessary since the juniper, like many other plants, retains different organoleptic properties depending on the territory in which it grows.

GINEPRAIO ORGANIC TUSCAN DRY GIN

  • Transparent, crystalline.

  • 45% VOL

  • Aromas of juniper and flowers. Spicy (coriander) and balsamic (juniper and helichrysum) flavors.

  • 18/22 C°

  • Organic Gin from Tuscany. Made with alcohol from Tuscan organic wheat and Tuscan organic botanicals. Essential Botanicals of Juniper, Coriander, Angelica Root, Sweet Orange Peel, Helichrysum Italicum, Lemon Peel, and Dog Rose Petals.

The history of gin has a strong bond with Tuscany because British Master Gin Distillers have always selected the Tuscan Juniper, considered of high quality.

Ginepraio has a double meaning in Italian: it literally means juniper thicket; while, especially in Tuscany, it could also mean a mess, a complicated situation.

The bottle and simple label recall the image of a surgical drip, a symbol of the origin of the gin, created by a Dutch doctor, in the 1600s, looking for a universal cure for several diseases.

GINEPRAIO AMPHORA NAVY STRENGTH GIN

  • Transparent, crystalline.

  • 57% VOL

  • This gin is an explosion of aromas of juniper, wildflowers, and green grass. On the palate, it is spicy (coriander) and balsamic (juniper and helichrysum), with a zesty final and hints of angelica with an almost extremely long aftertaste due to the aging process in amphora.

  • 18/22 C°

  • Ginepraio is the first Navy Strength gin distilled in Italy and the first gin in the world to be matured in amphora.

During the 6 months that our gin spends in the Cocciopesto amphora, it reaches a better aromatic complexity and smooth balance between the botanicals, enhancing the organoleptic profile of the gin, resulting in a complex tasteful experience.

Legend has it that Gin Navy Strength has traveled aboard English vessels together with gunpowder, as its 57 alcoholic volumes did not leave any impact on its fire capacities.

GINEPRAIO ORGANIC MEDITERRANEAN DRY GIN
